I have raised an FASD affected child who is now 24 years old. He was 12 when he came to live with me. This syndrome is extremely difficult to live with, both for the "victim" and the care giver ! My "grandson" is an awesome person. It's too bad that he doesn't know that. Comprehension and impulsiveness are probably our main hurdles. I continue without much support as most people see my boy as a problem, instead of that he has a problem. I live with the belief that while there is life there is hope. My higher power sustains me.
